Day 1 – Here We Go!
Adam has successfully completed day one of his journey after two interviews with the media to start his day! Despite head and/or cross winds of 30-35 km/h, Adam managed to complete the first ride of his journey (104 km) in 5 hours and 53 minutes of cycling time and 7 hours and 5 minutes including his much deserved rest stops!!
The day consisted of the first 10 km through historic St. John’s and then was followed up by 25 km on the Newfoundland Trailway while making his way around Conception Bay. Adam was lucky to meet up with a mother and daughter duo who were cycling 20 km between hockey and basketball practices, sharing in his love of cycling. A big thanks to Richard (brother of Paula) who so graciously allowed the team to set up for the evening in her house.
Thank you both so much! Overall day one was safe but slow. Tomorrow Adam will set off bright and early to commence day two!! Great first day TEAM!!
