What is ARVC?

ARVC was not known to our family until tragedy struck. Advancements in medical science help us know more about this inherited heart condition.

ACT NOW

This is our family story

In 2001, we lost Jackie (our sister, our wife, our mother, our daughter) to unexplained sudden cardiac arrest, at the young age of 31.  Since then, Greg (our nephew, our son, our brother, our grandson) has suffered 5 cardiac arrests, which we now know are the result of our family having ARVC, an inherited cardiac disease.  Greg was only 20 years old when he had his first arrest.

While major advancements have been made in the understanding of this disease since 2001, our family is committed to not only further supporting awareness, research and care of people afflicted with ARVC, but to also connect with families dealing with the consequences of its occurrence.

We wish to honour Adam after his untimely passing in October 2024. In his spirit of turning personal hardship into opportunity, Adam biked across Canada to raise awareness, focus and funds regarding ARVC (Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy). In lieu of flowers, in honour and spirit of Adam’s brave quest, the family gratefully accepts donations to Adam’s UHN (University Health Network) Foundation Fundraiser

Ride Across Canada

Adam travelled across Canada by bicycle to raise ARVC awareness, grow our support network and raise funding for research and clinical efforts. He completed his ride and continued to support the cause right up to his untimely passing in October 2024. We honour his memory by continuing his quest to make a difference.

Thanks to our sponsors and partners!

Fundraising for future impact

The financial support raised will go to supporting research and clinical efforts being done at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre in Toronto.
